A. Martini & Co. begins partnership with Diocese of Pittsburgh as General Contractor

A. Martini & Co. Builds USPS Buildings in area

Gilbert Auel passes away, December 24

Clementine Pittore joins the business as Secretary / Co-Owner with Angelo Martini, Sr.

Rodman Street Baptist Church – first church project – A. Martini begins work within religious sector

A. Martini & Co. selected by AIP as General Contractor for nationwide locations – completes projects in Houston, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Denver, Akron, and Pittsburgh

A. Martini & Co. builds Mineo Building in Shadyside Neighborhood (5414 Walnut Street)
1979
A. Martini & Co. begins relationship with Pittsburgh National/PNC Financial Corp (now known as PNC Bank)

A. Martini & Co. begins construction for Parkvale Savings Bank on their first pre-fabricated retail branch in the Pittsburgh region.

Art Institute Atlanta – project in Atlanta for AIP
1985
Anthony joins the business as Project Manager
1986
A. Martini & Co. constructs Carl W. Herrman’s Furs retail location in downtown Pittsburgh
1986
Mister Donut renovation to Dunkin’ Donuts in Monroeville, PA
1988
Angelo Jr. joins the business as Project Manager

Toys R Us retail locations around the region

First project with Western PA School for the Deaf (WPSD)
1989
A. Martini & Co. becomes a regional general contractor for McDonalds, constructing 10, ground-up, restaurants for the leading global foodservice retailer
1990
A. Martini & Co. serves as the general contractor for the first project for Cohen & Grigsby – 27th floor in former CHG Building (presently EQT Building).
As of 2020, our team continues work with Cohen & Grigsby.

Pedestrian Tunnel in Oakland constructed (on University of Pittsburgh Campus); connecting Western Psychiatric Hospital with UPMC’s Main Tower, under DeSoto Street

A. Martini & Co. builds Henne Jewelers flagship store on Walnut Street in Shadyside

A. Martini & Co. completes offices of Sherrad German Kelly

A. Martini & Co. served as the general contractor for Google’s Headquarters in Bakery Square when the tech-giant took up residence in Pittsburgh, in the former 100-year old Nabisco Bakery Factory.
Construction began in 2008.

The Master Builder's Association celebrated its 125th Anniversary on Nov. 5
2013
Design Pittsburgh Awards; A. Martini & Co. was the General Contractor on this project and worked with Astorino architects.
2013
A. Martini & Co. completes construction of the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) in Harmar, PA
2014
Angelo Sr. awarded the James Kling Fellowship Award by the Master Builders Association of Western PA
2015
A. Martini & Co. completes Phase 1 of renovations to Excela Health’s Frick Hospital. This was the first of five phases completed by A. Martini in an effort to renovate each department of the hospital and expand the facilities square footage in Mt. Pleasant, PA.

A. Martini & Co. launches “A. Martini CARES” Corporate Philanthropic Program to support non-profits in the Pittsburgh region through volunteer efforts and financial contributions

Excela Square at Unity opens its doors; This 115,000sf facility was constructed by A. Martini in an effort to combine 16 separate sites for Excela’s healthcare system
