Nestled the historic landmark Union Trust Building in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, the remarkable transformation of this space has given rise to Del Frisco’s, an elegant fine dining restaurant.
Tasked with orchestrating this fit out, A. Martini & Co. was chosen for the role of Construction Manager/General Contractor. A. Martini & Co has completed previous successful projects in the Union Trust building – including a since-closed upscale restaurant – Union Standard, and corporate tenant spaces – Buchanan Ingersoll Law Firm, and Frost Brown Todd Law Firm.
The primary challenge of this endeavor lay in not only addressing the unforeseen conditions of this historic building, but also a carefully planned “meticulous fit-out that spanned across six levels of the Union Trust Building,” judges write.
The addition of a private dining area was also part of this fine dining restaurant. Integral to this transformation, a new set of stairs weaves through the levels, not merely as a conduit for movement but as an architectural statement, accentuating the grandeur of the elegant Union Trust Building. The open dining room includes elaborate finishes requiring expert craftsmanship. At the culinary heart of the establishment is a state-of-the-art kitchen. Designed by Aria Group, the archways and ornamental metalwork between the open dining room, new bar and private dining room embrace the Steel City identity.
In summation, the Del Frisco’s Pittsburgh project underscores the convergence of the historic building, elegant and sophisticated design, with fine dining, expertly brought to life through the skillful execution of A. Martini & Co.
