A. Martini & Co. has completed construction of the City Works Eatery & Pour House in Market Square. The space boasts nearly 11,200sf of floor space and a spacious outdoor patio, plus private dining and cocktail areas for large groups. City Works is an ‘eatery and pour house’ style restaurant, with a focus on classic American food with brilliant twists, an expansive selection of drinks. The ‘pour house’ offers 90 craft beer handles, with a number of local brews on tap. Our team is proud of the space that we built for Bottleneck Management, while partnering with Bramco Construction, Highwoods Properties and Dacre & Younguist, LLC to bring this new brand to Pittsburgh.

On February 23, the Master Builders’ Association (MBA) of Western PA honored top projects at their 10th Annual Construction Industry Evening of Excellence, at the Heinz Field East Club. Poros Restaurant was honored  at the ceremony as the best ‘New Construction Under $10M.’ We are proud of our long-standing partnership with MBA and honored to be recognized among some of the greatest projects in the Pittsburgh region in the past 12 months.

Poros Restaurant – 2016 MBA Excellence Awards Winner Video

The long-awaited restaurant from local chef, Derek Stevens, opened its doors on February 17. A. Martini & Co. was placing the finishing touches on the space and co-habitating with the Union Standard team during the final week to make sure everything was perfect.

This project was the first major new restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh in 2017 and the first solo-gig for Chef Derek Stevens. The 170-seat, 7,5000sf restaurant, spans three floors and features a raw bar and wood-fired grill and rotisserie. Having items like this on the menu will ensure that this restaurant will cater to the dietary and food preferences of everyone, which will only help the success of the business in the long run. Because of the different types of food that they will be serving to their customers, looking into some cold storage doors, would have been essential to incorporate in the construction process, as this will help to keep the food at their desired temperatures. And if they don’t want to receive any complaints, this will be crucial. As the restaurant is spanned over three floors, they will need to do everything they can to make sure that all the spaces are filled to capacity. When Stevens acquired the space in the ever-popular Union Trust building, he envisioned keeping many of the details that were original to the space and staples of the iconic Pittsburgh building.

The restaurant is just one of the hallmarks of the $100M renovation to Pittsburgh’s Union Trust Building, which has been ongoing since the building was purchased for development in 2014 by Davis Companies.

The Tull Family Theater, Sewickley’s new independent movie house, is set to open its doors on February 17. A. Martini & Co. served as the General Contractor for this theater that will offer two screening rooms, one seating 75 and the other offering seating for nearly 170. The larger theater will also offer a stage for presentations and special guests. Additionally, there is flex-space within the building for special events and private parties.

The planning for the theater, formally called the ‘Village Theater,’ began in 2011 and the non-profit raised over $4M in donations to fund the nonprofit theater for the Sewickley community.

The cinema is named for Alba and Thomas Tull, founder of the Legendary Pictures and part-owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Poros Restaurant was selected, by the Master Builders Association (MBA), as a finalist in the ‘New Construction Under $10 Million‘ category for the 2016 Building Excellence Awards. The winners will be announced on February 23, 2017 at the Construction Evening of Excellence.

While Excela Health executives, staff, donors, community partners, and the design and construction team looked on, the last steel beam was hoisted into place on the new Excela Square structure in Latrobe. The ceremony, held on Thursday morning, November 17, marked a major milestone for Excela Health, making the symbolic completion of the structural steel phase of the building, which remains on schedule to open its doors in January 2018.

The new building will further expand Excela Health’s presence in Westmoreland County, offering a “one-stop” facility for their patients.

“What is the best thing we could do for our patients? We wanted them to be able to easily come in and receive the care they need that day. From seeing a Primary Care Physician to an Orthopedic Specialist, if needed. All in one day,” Excela Health CEO, Robert J. Rogalski, Esq. said. “We’re offering the tools patients need to stay in the community.”

The Unity center will serve as an extension of Excela’s Latrobe Hospital and will bring many primary care physicians in Excela’s family next door to specialty providers.

“It is exciting to be a part of the construction of this large facility for Excela Health, who’s been a great healthcare partner in our region,” said Angelo Martini, Jr., COO of A. Martini & Co. “This is a huge milestone for this project and our team has done an excellent job finalizing the erection of 500 tons of steel. We’re excited to begin working on the interior so that Excela can ‘get their nervous system and brains in there’ as Mr. Rogalski said this morning.”

The groundbreaking ceremony for this project was held nearly six months ago, May 18, and since, the 29-acre project site along Route 30 has seen much transformation. Frost Brown Todd Pittsburgh’s Office is moving from the PPG Building into an 18,000sf space in the Union Trust Building downtown Pittsburgh. The law firm will take space on the eighth floor, moving their practice from its temporary home at One PPG Place, into an office that has potential to hold 30-plus lawyers.

FBT, which has 12 offices and employs more than 500 lawyers across the US, expects to move into their new offices by mid-March. A. Martini & Co. was selected as the General Contractor for the build-out and is working with NEXT Architecture, JLL, the Owner’s Representative, along with The Davis Companies, who is owner of the Union Trust Building.

Excela Health broke ground yesterday afternoon on its newest patient-centered medical home, Excela Square at Latrobe. A. Martini & Co. will serve as the General Contractor for this $40 million, 115,000sf complex located off Route 30 in Unity Township. The new facility will be a three-story state-of-the-art ambulatory care center. Following in the footsteps of their highly successful facility in Norwin, Excela Square, and this location will offer patients access to primary and specialty care, diagnostic testing and rehabilitation services, all under one roof. The facility will also house Excela Health’s nationally recognized Family Medicine Residency Program led by Latrobe Hospital.

“The new facility is a culmination of a comprehensive strategic plan completed by Excela Health which examined our hospitals, patient procedures and outcomes, and trends in health care to determine current and future needs,” said Robert Rogalski, Excela Health’s Chief Executive Officer.

Over the last several years, there has been a growing movement within the health care industry to cluster essential services within outpatient settings to better integrate patient needs, prevent avoidable outcomes, and thereby manage service costs more effectively. The patient-centered medical home is a recognized and recommended national model of primary care that improves care and the patient experience while reducing costs. “We’re creating a high-quality care delivery model that works now and in the future,” said Rogalski.

Construction is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2017. H.F. Lenz Company is the civil engineer, Davis Stokes Collaborative, P.C. is the architect and ArTECH group is serving as the Owners Representative for this specific project with Excela Health.

This week, we teamed with a group of local content marketing experts to present the ‘Four Key to Content Marketing Success’ and how AEC Marketers and Business Developers can apply them to their content strategy. B2B companies are using content marketing to ultimately identify and nurture leads that can then be handled by Salesforce and internal teams. By engaging our customers, B2B marketers increase brand awareness and create a connection between the customer and their company. By consistently creating and posting content that is relevant for our industry and clients, we can build a followership and gain our clients’ loyalty, look into the two different types of content marketing here.

So, you want to build a Content Marketing Strategy?

For many of our B2B firms, content marketing is becoming THE key initiative when marketing to a particular industry or client. Whether it be engaging with the 72% of customers who prefer video content, or setting up a series of blogs. But creating content marketing that delivers results is not an easy feat. Spending the time to develop a strong content marketing strategy that aligns with your annual business plan, particularly targets and services, will ensure you are focused on getting more tangible results. It’s important to note that development for websites and systems can be very difficult and so, if you don’t know what you’re doing, it is best to leave it to the experts.

Content isn’t a new initiative, but the way we distribute it certainly is. Creating relevant content for your audience provides them with an educational experience in a topic of interest. The key to this process is the educational piece. Strategy. It’s elusive. And it’s all but disappeared from many of our B2B content marketing initiatives. It’s time to bring strategy back. The best content strategies are those that are innovative, different, and evolving with shifting buyer personas. At the very least, challenge yourself to create and define a strategy that can be reviewed and realigned to match and promote your company’s business plans and sector goals throughout the year.
